Occupy Boston activist turn their attention to the problem of the service cuts and fare hikes proposed by the MBTA. Also a group is working to apposed the MBTA's proposals. The people who ride the MBTA find the proposals unacceptable. A member of the the group occupy MBTA said that the plan to oppose the MBTA's proposals began taking shape on line. She said that as a Lynn resident who takes public transportation to Boston to get to her job as a database administrator, it would affect her personally as well as other members. She also said that the most affected by the proposals would be the people in the lowest income levels, rather than charging more fares and taking away service the MBTA should change to other options. She also said that the MBTA should overhaul the system. She thinks that state or federal government should intervin in this matter because some things matter enough that you have to fight to keep them. An activist going by the name of Tyson Hawk, to protect his identity, whos lives in a suburb southwest of Boston said that the group is working to get people informed and engaged through social media. They are also trying to encourage people to attend MBTA public meeting and have their voices heard.H He thinks that the MBTA's proposals are not right. He said that any banks that were bailed out from holding debt from the MBTA should help the MBTA owns crisis. He also feels that the companies that gained from the Big Dig should help with the crisis that the MBTA is facing. Jubilee is another member of anther group opposing the MBTA said that he expects that the two groups will join forces to fight the problem together. He also said that people should get involved. Jubille feels strongly that access to public transportation should be free as possible. He also said that decreased ridership is bad for the environment. He hopes that the meetings opposing the proposals will help shift the discussion of the proposals.
